Anyone here have a quilt on display at the New City NY library? There were about 10 and they were beautiful.

I just got back from visiting NJ and NY. I am sad I did not know about this. I didin't see anything quilty while I was there. We loved the Rockettes Show and The Jersey Boys! The first day we were there was beautiful, after the rain stopped. The last two days were COLD! My husband had a meeting at the Hyatt in NJ.

I was very surprised to see those quilts since I never see any posts on RCTQ from people in this area. I am unaware of any quilting groups within 25 miles of me although I think I saw a Quilt shop in River Edge NJ. Will have to check them out one day.

There are two quilt shops in NY City that I know of (granted, I live in CA :-)) -

I didn't know about the Library exhibit, but I did know about the Made In New York one:

a friend of mine had a quilt in that one. Here's a listing of guilds in the area:

Thanks for the list.

I checked the New City library web site and found that the quilts were from

Treasury of Quilts made by students of The Happy Quilter, a local store. (Valley Cottage, NY). I would get lost going there.

Lee,

Huh? It's, like, not even 10 miles from Park Ridge.

It's less than 2 miles off the Thruway.

Exit the Thruway at Exit 12 (Route 303/Palisades Mall), follow the signs to 303 North and it will be in a shopping center on your left. It's a lovely little shop with a great selection of fabrics, well worth the trip.

Just a note: Right before you exit the Thruway, you'll go under an overpass. Keep bearing right and just keep following the signs for 303...you're going to be making a complete u-turn, and then a right turn to go over that overpass. That road will lead you to a big intersection with 303, where you'll make a left turn to head north.

It's really a piece of cake.

And there's another shop on Strawtown Road in West Nyack about 5 minutes away.

Enjoy!

I got lost just going from the Palisade Mall to the Rockland Bakery last week. Took the wrong turn and ended up God knows where. I am too old to explore new roads but if I get brave I will look at 303 to get there.

Anyway, thanks for the directions. I will check out the shop on KKK Rd. in River Edge NJ next week.
