I think the technique is in a Sandi Cummings book.
HAD to look through the others while I was there. Beautiful! Thank you for the link.
I kept going back to the one with the silhouette of the girls jumping rope. Just a bit of visual dissonance for me. When the girl is up, the rope should be down. Or when the rope is up, the girl should be down. But still great fun to look at and bring back memories of double-dutch days.
The blue cats made me think I should make a purple one for the cat I called "Purple Kitty."
Love the bear! I've seen that somewhere else. . . .

I think that bear was in the Sister's show about 4 years ago. If not that one, one just like it.

The bear has been at many shows and taken many awards. It is Janet Fogg's. I also love her "Kitty Corner" quilt. It looks a lot like my Molly :-)
