New Quilt pictures up

I won 2 ribbons. The pictures are blurry, I have no idea why. I guess I'm old and shaky.

WOOHOOOOO!!!!! Gorgeous quilts- ALL of them- and well-deserved ribbons! And I peeked at your sewing room photos. That's a room I could happily spend a lot of time in, too- you are lucky!

That was the first quilt I ever made. And I had never heard of paper piecing.

Congrats on the ribbons, Cindy! I was charmed to read about the small quilt with the Dresden Plate blocks. It is a pretty quilt, and the story is priceless! PAT in VA/USA

p.s.: couple questions: what did you win the award for (over your cutting table) and why do you have a chopping board hanging in your sewing room....(over your computer to the right?) just curious!!!

I LOVE questions!

I was the Political Education Director for the Wichita/Hutchinson Labor Federation all through the 90's. That means I coordinated campaigns between the politicians and the union members. Directed volunteers, baby-sat freaked out and annoying new candidates, that sort of thing.

When I moved away from there, they gave me a nice gift and the plaque which states:

In Recognition of Cindy Pucci for her distinguished service and unparalleled enthusiasm for this organization and it's members. July 24, 1997.

I loved the excitement and the drama of politics. I got to travel a lot and meet a lot of interesting people from all over the world. I was a lot younger and really did have enthusiasm for the job.

But you get jaded and you get tired. If we hadn't moved, I would have probably quit after the 98 election cycle.

Anyway, nothing to do with quilting, but I don't really have an office anymore, so it hangs in my sewing room along with a gift certificate for Dr Kevorkian's services, given to me by a co-worker after a particularly brutal election, and autographed pictures of Bill Clinton and me, and one of AFL-CIO President John Sweeney and myself.

More than you wanted to know, but there it is.

As far as the wooden cutting board is concerned, don't you all have one in your sewing room? LOL> That's one of the leftovers from my paper craft days. I haven't used it for a long time, but you never know.

Bringing up the rear here but we seem to be having a hurricane marathon. I just now got to see your sewing area and I'm in love. That's wonderful. You have bested my essentials collection big time. I'm especially tickled about the "gift certificate for Dr Kevorkian's services, given to me by a co-worker after a particularly brutal election". Oh my. Yes. There were times. Polly

"teleflora" I LOVE questions!

DH received a Dr K certificate as a going away gift. "His mechanics" told him he'd miss them that much. They also gave him a 'potty shaped cake'.

Butterfly (Who said mechanics didn't have a sense of humor, never met these fellas.)
