Ok and next...

Have finished the purple top. DH shudders when he looks at it. Even DD said, "Oh, Mum..." and not in a good way. I'm not sure if it's because it's way, way brighter than anything I own, let alone have quilted. Well anyway ladies, put your sunglasses on and turn the lights off. Then let me know what you think. Be brutal. I'm thousands of kilometres away after all!

I was going to start a draught stopper I bought a pattern for, but the measurements are all in centimetres (being In Oz) and I don't have a metric ruler. Yet. So I'll just have to think about something else. Like that half finished tapestry on the frame.

Thanks for your thoughts,

I love it! Of course purple is one of my favorite colors. So, if it doesn't want to live with you, send it my way and I will give it a very good home!

What pattern did you use? It looks great and works well with the variety of fabrics you used.

I like it! If it is not big enough for any guest bed, make it into a TV snuggle wrap for yourself! The colors are great.

Too bright? I don't think so - I love it. Those purples are great, and the pattern works well with the fabrics. Good job!

Fay, no matter what your DH and DD say, I like it! I don't think it's too bright at all -- I love your fabric combinations. :)

It's not that bright Fay, I didn't need the sunnies either.

I am not into purple but think it looks great

It's great, Fay. The greens in with the purples make it just right. Of course my stated favourite colours are green and lilac - so! Sometimes it takes 'people' a little while to get used to 'colours'. It's a good pattern, and the colours are nicely balanced. . In message , Fay writes

ok, I guess I am going to be brutal....

It is pretty, but I am not a fan of purple and it didn't appeal to my senses, but it did appeal to my eyes. (did that make any sense?) I am not sure why though, maybe it just needs some lime green to make my eyeballs go WOW! ;-) I love the pattern though! I could imagine that pattern with some warm fall colours like orange and brown and reds. My husband, who adores purple, said it was nice. (and to get a nice out of him is pretty dang high up there on the like scale for him)

~KK in BC~ who misses quilting so much now that the weather has turned cool and smells like Fall. .... also hoping I didn't offend you cuz that would make me sad :-(

Not offended at all KK. I don't have any lime green, only the floral bright green fabric in the quilt. I perfectly understand what you mean though. The fabric was bought on EBay early in my stash acquisition and was part of mixed bundles I bid on. Not going to throw anything out in any event.

Why can you not quilt, in any season? Cheers, Fay

Bright? Nah, not at all. Very pretty though.

As for the draught stopper, why don't you just go to a conversion site and change those measurements to inches? Or even look at your tape measure which probably has both on there. Unless that tapestry is really calling, of course. :-)
