New Quilt Sampler Magazine arrived early

The fall/winter 2007 issue of Quilt Sampler arrived earlier than the projected date of September 11th. If you want to finally see a photo of me and some of my quilts you will find them in the magazine. I teach at The Quilt Merchant which is one of the featured shops.

Photo of staff page 76---that's me on the far left. Wish I had chosen something more flattering to wear.

Quilt samples I made: Page 73 - large square quilt hung diagonally on point. Pattern by Jo Morton

Page 74 - small insert picture of 350 block signature quilt. I made the blocks as a gift for Docia and presented them to her the day before the store opened. I have also made similar blocks as wedding gifts to have the bride's guests sign at the wedding reception. Great excuse for not having the quilt finished before the wedding.

Page 74 top photo - Framed quilt is a Lori Smith pattern I pieced. I stitched two of the needlework pieces. I give a class on framing needlework and quilts at the store.

Page 74 lower right - applique behind Beth's head is another Jo Moron pattern I made. This pattern I stitched twice for the store, once in cotton and once in wool. The primitive design works in both fabrics. The wool applique uses the same cotton half square triangle border and the background is a wonderful raw silk.

Page 75 top photo---small quilt hanging on the door. Pattern is from Vintage Small Quilts by Jo Morton.

Page 75 bottom photo--- two miniature quilts hanging under the star in the center of the photograph.

That's enough tooting my own horn. Hope you enjoy the issue. If you are ever in the Chicago are please plan to stop by the store.

Congratulations Susan. What fun to get so much of you as a contributor, in one issue. I don't suppose I'll see one of those magazines, but pleased for you anyway. . In message , Susan Laity Price writes
