new virtual photos

Well, the photos are real, but the quilts are virtual!!

Joined a group that uses Carol Doak's blocks for quilt design challenges in EQ5, EQ6, and Quilt Pro. The group doesn't allow us to post pictures -- apparently only the owner posts pictures and then only if at least 10 people participate in a particular challenge. Somethin' like that. Heck, I'm a newbie -- I don't have it all straight yet.

Anyway, the owner finally suggested that we post pictures elsewhere.

Ya gotten see these things I did!! I even ordered a mug from Webshots with the purple one.

in the EQ5 Anniversary Block Album.

I'm just learning EQ5. Why not EQ6? -- no books yet. I can get into a zone and just play with EQ all day!! Good thing school is out! I don't even take time for chocolate.

Kay, those are great! It looks like a garden full of hearts. :)

Thanks, Sandy!

I really like the flowers with the stems best. A few of us had that idea about putting stems in. But the stemmed ones weren't part of the challenge. I'll probably go back and create more quilt designs with the stemmed flowers. Not sure I want to actually make them with those little stems though!

Kay, paper piecing them will make it easy! Just draw in the stems and piece them! :)

I like the flowers with stems the best, but the colors and the border with the squares in the purple one are great. Debra in VA See my quilts at

Thank you! And ya know, I have no idea what possessed me to put those purple borders in there! I like the diamonds in the border. I can't wait until my mug gets here.

I'll have to tinker more with the blocks with the stems. They were never part of the challenge, but I had them in the same project file. That stem makes the paper-piecing more difficult. I'll paper-piece just the triangle with the stem separately, then I can put it in as if it were one piece of fabric.

I don't exactly MAKE the things I play with in EQ, but I might have to make this one. I'd love to have a quilt and matching mug.
