off and on topic

Some of you knew we were going for an interview today. Well, we are going to decline that position. The apartment that goes with the job is a 20 x 17 room plus bedroom. No room for sewing nor computers much less our books. Oh, and our grandkids would not be welcome to stay. The owner wants this for adults only. There was no private entrance for us and no space outside for gas grill and picnic table. Not only would I have difficulty finding space for my sewing machine, there was no place to keep stash or hang more than the smallest quilt. So, we are going for another position that was offered this week. Large apartment, lots of space to hang quilts, and maybe even have a quilt or two on display. Location isn't the best but we will make the best of it. So......... I'm still packing and looks like we will be moving within a month. More will be known tomorrow.

Best wishes to you and DH on your new adventure, Mary! Where are you going? Will you still be in Oregon? Plan B sounds MUCH more enjoyable!!

Still in Oregon.... only about 35 miles south of where we are now.

Thanks. The last 4 years seem like a lifetime.

Thanks. We moved into this house 8 years ago but that move was only about

15 feet from the old house we tore down. We had been in that house 14 years.

Doesn't sound like the inn was going to be a very friendly place. Good that you used your instincts & declined the position. Good luck with the other position. The best thing about moving, to me, is purging all that stuff that I've just been hanging on to for no good reason. Wish I could come help you with your packing!

Thanks, Pauline, but the move will be gradual from the sounds of things. We start training on Feb 15 and take over management on March 1. The move is only 35 miles. I can have my outside flowers and maybe even a garden space, sewing room, and best of all, the grandkids are welcome to spend any time they want. Oh, and there's and indoor swimming pool. I've done some purging and know there will be a lot more.
