On and OT: Christmas is approaching too fast

We had company all last week, then I participated in the craft sale on Saturday. I should have stayed home, as most people wanted things for almost free. DH went golfing with our guests on Friday and seriously sprained his ankle. I think he'll be off it for quite a long time. So, now I have to get all the Christmas baking done, decorate the house inside and out, as well as decorating the garden railway, cleaning the track, weeding and picking up debris in the garden, and I have NO TIME TO QUILT! Sorry, I'm just feeling sorry for myself right now. I know I'll be able to get everything done.........

I know I know. But I just adore having the trees up with the lights blinking on and off at me. And having big blow up Santa on the front porch waving cheerily at me as I come and go just improves my mood no end. And the smell of christmas baking is just too good for words beaten only by the taste of the stuff! Yes I know I shouldn't but I do, so there! ROFLOL. And I do stop to quilt. And Sew. And I love to wrap the presents because then I get to see what Santa is bringing all over again (especially for me!!!).

And to Liz over in Waikiki Western Australia, I so promise to have that journal in the post tomorrow morning - with an I'm Sorry gift inside!!!

Haven't even thought of decorating - but have written cards and wrapped pressies to post. Hopefully garden will be covered with snow so nobody will see!

The bit that drew me was the 'people wanting things at Craft Fairs to be rock bottom (or below) prices.

Same here. My Christmas Angels were sold for 50p last week - could have cried. Admittedly I got them for 10p reduced from £2 in the sales last year. They were naked so I dressed them in frilly skirts. I would have put at least £1 on them.

Quilted cushions (+ pad) were sold for £2. Next fair I am putting prices on them (I am always in charge of teas, not a stall! - just stock the stalls!)

Went to as commercial craft fair last week - the prices were so high they made me cry, but, because they were 'professionals' people were buying.

Thanks Polly For helping us put this back into perspective. Yesterday, my guys did the outside lights (out front and on our 'real live pine tree' out back) and DS and I put the inside tree up--I handed him the branches--he did the rest. Maybe tonight we'll get the lights on--maybe not. Not doing any cookie baking this year.

Butterfly (DH is putting my train up on the board for me--he is really enjoying himself--working on it out in the garage for now ; )
