a week and wont heat?? good grief, return it now and if they give you another one, try it in the shop first. it it is mailed to you, ask that someone try it out before mailing. could be you just got the lemon of the batch. j.

I call those "friday night specials" since you don't want to buy the car or home applicance that was built on the day before the weekend!

I hope Allbrands makes it right for you Polly. I have used my Conair almost every day for hours at a time. I have taken it on vacation several times until I bought the "color" iron from Westinghouse. Sounds like your's missed the QC test for "does it heat up".

I also bought the color iron from Westinghouse and it developed a hot spot. Scorched and melted a couple of things. Contacted the company and was sent a brand new iron within days. It is a Black & Decker in the same price range and works fine so far. All I had to do was cut the plug off the non-working iron and return it. Good service. Anna Belle
