That is so downright gorgeous - if it was mine, I think I'd go with a medium light sashing like gold or tan - you certainly don't want anything to take away from those beautiful blocks. Wow My opinion only, but if you went too light with the sashing, I think a person's eye would just see that ... if you went with too dark a sashing, the same thing. Please let us know what you decide. What a great job.

Yes, give it that whole illuminated manuscript feel!

I think a small border of a fabric that reads mostly metallic gold or bronze (not as shiny as a lame, but would definately pick up the metallic in your fabric) w/ a dark brown looks-like-wood would be really neat. Then your blocks would be like "jewels" set in the old wood cover.... grin
