Organzing your quilting books

I'm the librarian for my guild. We have a bookshelf on wheels (an amazing donation by a local cabinetmaker) where the books are stored. They are on the cart in author order; each book spine has a label with the author's name.

I have all the books listed on an Excel spreadsheet so I can sort by author or title. Anyone in my guild is welcome to a copy of the spreadsheet, and new titles/authors are listed in each month's newsletter.

Now the coolest part.

Roberta:

That is a VERY good idea! Sometimes I recall the 'look' of the book, but not the title or author, etc.

I wish Nann, the Official Librarian of RCTQ would chime in on this topic. I miss her anyhow, and now seems a good time for her return. I don't have her email address to request her advice. If anyone does, maybe you can encourage Nann to address this topic. Thanks.

Hi Nann! Thanks for the info about Library Thing. Now, don't be a stranger!

Access isn't really that hard! The real challenge is that once you print the report -- you can't tweak it -- you can only modify the report overall. If you get started -- I can help!

The easiest part will be importing the data from Excel!
