OT: and the saga continues

Ok, so Tom is doing a little better..stil coughing and sniffling and sounding awful, but he's taking his medicines and eating since I'm not putting him on his ADHD meds while he's home.

Here's the weeks recap:

Monday, hubby had his ultrasound for his kidneys - gets it ebery 2 years or so

Tuesday, I had an eye doctor's appointment and wound up with the dilation drops that resulted in a horrendous migraine.

Wednesday, Tom woke up shivering with a high fever, so I ran him to the walk-in hours at the doc, they did strep culture, ran Bek to preschool, then ran back to my appointment for a thyroid biopsy - 5 needles, no Lidicanie or anything else to numb it - back home for quick shower and something to eat, then ran back to get Bek

Thursday, Tom woke up crying and saying that he felt like he was dying, called on-call doc and ended up taking him in as soon as they opened at

815am, did flu test, back home to try and nap, called and said test was positive, so out to get his homework and medicines. Meanwhile, something shorted in the phone lines, so we had no house phone at all, and where we live, we have extremely limited 9as in on a wing and a prayer) cell service. Oh, and I was supposed to have a follow-up with the allergist, but I called and cancelled that Wednesday night since Tom's fever was so high.

Today, Tom didn't even get up until 830 am (that's 14 hours of sleep for him!!) and I had him eat some Jello so that I could get his medicines in him. He grazed all day, which is a good thing and had mac and cheese for dinner. Had an unexpected visitor - phone company said not until Tuesday 3/4, but there was a serviceman ringing the doorbell! FIgured out that there was a line that was not a good one, got everything hooked up, including the house alarm so there is no longer a trouble light going off, and that's that...service charge will be on the next bill.

So, everything seems to be settling down, and I was playing a game online, eating a nutrition bar (EAS AdvantEdge, Peanut-caramel, in case you were wondering) and there was a loud crunch. Now, the bars are fairly smooth in consistency, but a bit chewy...so I took a look and freaked because there was, what looked like a tooth. Took a better look, and yep, it was a crown...my right rear gold crown, to be exact!! WTF is going on this week?>?!!!??? And of course, my dentist isn't open on the weekends, won't be open until 8am MOnday. So I will be heading out soon for groceries and temporary dental adhesive.

In the meantime, I've called the grocery store to check on a special order that I placed (store brand pediatric nutrition drink) and it didn't come in. They were going to try to call this afternoon to see if they could get it in on SUnday...I tried to call the distributor and of course, they are closed today...so....now we play the hunt and wait game to see if it has been discontinued or is off line for repackaging or what is going on.

I'm trying to figure out what I have done, either in this life or in another life, that deserves the chaos of this week, and have come to the conclusion that I will never know. All I can do right now is just sit back and laugh because if I don't laugh, I will start crying and might not be able to stop.

Larisa, going grocery shopping and hunting for fabri dyes to try and get close to the color that a potential customer wants for her daughter's

1st communion dress - she informed me that it doesn't have to be just white anymore

Larisa, my thoughts (and prayers) are with you. Whenever stuff piles up, I always think of the song "mama told me there'd be days like this". Unfortunately, mama never said what to do when the days string together!

I hope days get better soon.

Larisa,

When I have weeks like this, I just sit back and laugh my insane, maniacal laugh. There's really nothing much else to do except pray that the following week is better!

I had an Exorcist type experience with my dog a few years back (Yep! I think poor Mr. Scotty's head even spun around a few times just like Linda Blairs!). I will NOT gross people out with details but lets just say that my dog will NEVER be given ox meat again! EVER!

Just remember that "this too shall pass" and keep goin'!

So sorry you are dealing with all this. We have been dealing with our share of issues here too. Sometimes life is just so darn ruff!! Just remember it will pass. Keep your head up!

Last post, in deference to those with dial-up who obviously can't decide not to read messages from me and would rather email me off-line to tell me to start a blog.

The flu has migrated to me so life has gotten even more interesting as hubby tries to take care of everyone. I will be away from the computer for quite a while - only have the laptop because hubby didn't need it for a while.

Enjoy, keep quilting and take care of yourself.

Oh, and if you have dial-up, feel free to ignore my posts instead of responding to me privately. I'm just wondering if others who has posted long messages have gotten the same private email

Larisa, yes, I'm feeling snarky because I'm having trouble breathing properly, can barely sleep, and feel like I've literally been beaten within an inch of my life.

Eh, just ignore the old grumps!

Hope you and your family are feeling better by now!
