The (Phoenix) Saga continues...........

Nov 13, 2006 2 Replies

I know that jeanne has been doing some postings about the continuing saga of the two of us getting from Houston to Phoenix...... There are a lot better things I would like to do than spend several days in the Midland, TX Saturn dealership, a hotel/motel room and waiting to hear what is happening, believe me.

Jeanne didn't really believe me when I told her that the house was a mess, totally loaded with stuff (Stash of various types.....)but that I did have a couch that she could use if need be. She is now ensconced at the Premier Inn just a little ways up the road. She may be able to get computer access at the library which is walking distance, but maybe not until Tues.

I am trying to find a leak in the waterbed. And dealing with all sorts of other stuff. Still have not unloaded stuff from the (rental) car and won't find out anything about my car (still in Midland) until Wed. or Thurs. Sigh.

Next year I am renting a car for the trip to Houston.......

Will post more about the Houston trip later. But it was nice to put some faces to names. And I really do appreciate Tina putting up with me for the time there.

Pati, in Phx

Putting up with you? You're kidding right ?!?!?

OMG folks, let's see.... Pati cut out and helped me put together a "Warlock Robe" on the Tuesday of Halloween (Billy is still modeling it around!) - on the night of my near nervous breakdown (sick daughter, jerk ex-husband, yada, yada, yada) she cooked the whole family dinner - and not only did she cook dinner - she made Shrimp Curry! It was wonderful!

Pati also left her old sewing table here, since she ordered a new one at the show - it has already been put to use in my sewing room and tomorrow Billy has reserved it for assembling his "Pillow Talk" pillow that I picked up for him at the show.

She also let me use her fancy ergonomic rotary cutter that didn't make my rotator cuff tendon hurt when I used it. She absolutely sold me on that, I picked one up at the show and have been using it the last two days (trying to catch up on my sewing) and I still haven't had to take a pain pill for shoulder pain yet!

And let's not forget the HUGE bag of fresh candies she brought from Phoenix! Holy Cow! We're still eating lucious cremes and wonderful taffies and probably will be for another week.

If you've ever been to IQF, or one of the quilt shows - and have gotten to attend a "Meet the Teacher" lecture......... I got my very own, personal, "Meet the Teacher" for a whole week! Not thirty minutes, but a whole week! And don't even let me get started on the show and tell. You'll just have to wait for the pattern book.....at least, I got a sneak peek!

No Pati, I'd hardly say we "put up with you". Next year, we're shipping out any kid that gets sick, getting a contract on the ex and ordering dinner in! I plan on getting some more hands-on sewing time together!

I am just so thankful that while the car was an awful trauma - you both made it to Phoenix alive and well and still relatively intact!

Yes Pati, karma is definitely on your side!

Hugs, Tina

just found this post, with 12 mins to type fast, lol. long trip here but we finally made it. what an adventure in Midland, TX, lol.

i needed a heap of room to unpack, sort thru and repack my suitcases, as well as get the fabs sewn into various configs to wear/carry on my body home so thot a hotel was my better option here. i'm spread out all over the room there now and getting some clothes washed by hand in the tub, lol. jeans and track pants now hanging over the tub drying. :))

Pati and I are doing her quilting group/guild on Wed. we even got in some fabric shopping yesterday before i could get into the hotel. its nascar weekend and they were a wee bit behind in finishing all the rooms, oh well. yes i did indeed buy more fabs yesterday, argh i'm incorrigible. heehee

i think i'm done buying now tho. ok ok so maybe if i saw something i had to have would buy more,oh well. i can wear it all home eh.

Sheraton Hotel across the road from my hotel has puter access so can use that and no one there realizes i just walked in off the street, lol. i first walked into the tv lobby and watched a bit then wandered over to the puter sitting in front of the reception desk. :) they are none the wiser and really hurts no one so why not,eh.

Premier Inn room suits my needs fine and dandy for a short stay. off to check out the local mall after i leave here in 7 mins. get some food to take back to the room too. i need yogurtttttttttttttttttttttttt. :))

Pati and/or Ms Butterfly, call me when you get a chance later, eh. hugz for now, jeanne
