It was Tues. I went up to get the trunk latch on the car replaced. (Short meant the trunk light didn't work. They had to order the part, etc.) And DH managed to break the knob off the hand brake, so had to get that fixed too. And check the car for possible problems before driving to Houston next month.
Got that done. Nice wait at the dealership (Saturn), got binding sewn on a class sample. Did some work on Charms Plus patterns.
Left the dealership, (even remembered to get wiper refills) and headed to the far west side LQS, since this is shop hop week. Was stopped in the far left lane of traffic. That is what you do when the cars in front of you are stopped, right?? Looked down for some reason and the next thing I know..... crunch!!! I am pushed into the steering wheel and the car stalls out. Some nimno didn't stop. I drag out the cell phone, call 911 and inform whoever about the accident. The other driver comes up to see if I am okay..... how do I know at that point. I am in shock. Manage to start the car and move into the parking lot 3 lanes over. Guy wants to know why I am stopped.... says there was no one stopped in front of me..... I ignore him. In parking lot, call my insurance company. Manage to disconnect twice by moving my head wrong....d*****d cell phones. Cops arrive. I explain my side. Wait. BTW, the car has a broken driver's side rear quarter panel, big dent in the rubber bumper. Who knows what else. Wait. (It is about 100° out too.) I am starting to be a bit achy, upper back, and right upper arm. Head ache, heat??? Glad I was looking down, my head didn't snap, or I would have asked for paramedics too.
Upshot, he got a ticket. I have to have a bunch of car work done. Including the trunk lid...........and the latch I just had replaced. sigh. I am okay.
I hate traffic........... and people wonder why I didn't get a driver's license until I was 30.............. Arizona manages to get some of the worst driver's in the country.
