Speaking of traffic accidents......

It was Tues. I went up to get the trunk latch on the car replaced. (Short meant the trunk light didn't work. They had to order the part,etc.) And DH managed to break the knob off the hand brake, so had to get that fixed too. And check the car for possible problems before driving to Houston next month.Got that done. Nice wait at the dealership (Saturn), got binding sewn on a class sample. Did some work on Charms Plus patterns.Left the dealership, (even remembered to get wiper refills) and headed to the far west side LQS, since this is shop hop week. Was stopped in the far left lane of traffic. That is what you do when the cars in front of you are stopped, right?? Looked down for some reason and the next thing I know..... crunch!!! I am pushed into the steering wheel and the car stalls out. Some nimno didn't stop. I drag out the cell phone, call 911 and inform whoever about the accident. The other driver comes up to see if I am okay..... how do I know at that point. I am in shock.Manage to start the car and move into the parking lot 3 lanes over.Guy wants to know why I am stopped.... says there was no one stopped in front of me..... I ignore him. In parking lot, call my insurance company. Manage to disconnect twice by moving my head wrong....d*****d cell phones. Cops arrive. I explain my side. Wait.BTW, the car has a broken driver's side rear quarter panel, big dent in the rubber bumper. Who knows what else.Wait. (It is about 100° out too.) I am starting to be a bit achy, upper back, and right upper arm. Head ache, heat??? Glad I was looking down, my head didn't snap, or I would have asked for paramedics too.Upshot, he got a ticket. I have to have a bunch of car work done. Including the trunk lid...........and the latch I just had replaced. sigh. I am okay.I hate traffic........... and people wonder why I didn't get a driver's license until I was 30.............. Arizona manages to get some of the worst driver's in the country.Pati, in Phx

That is what San Diego is like in winter. In the summer instead of snowbirds they have 'Zonies that are trying to beat the desert heat. Can't win somewhere like that with such a great climate. Taria

Thanks to everyone. I am doing okay. Other guy's insurance is being very good about things. They called me. Have an estimate to get from their adjuster/inspector. Already got one from the body shop.... with notation that more is probable, once they get into the car and all. Now, if the timing works out, I may have a rental to go to Houston. We will see. If not the car should be in pretty good shape for the trip.

I'm not even too achy. And am trying to not overdue too much. (of course I am on deadline for class samples.. they have to be done for Meet the teacher's on Sunday... in the midst of one, one top ready to be basted and finished..minimal quilting because it is going to be backed with fleece, and a machine binding. and a block carrier to make. but I can use an old one if need be........ )
