Had a lovely trip home. First day was rainy - we stopped at Andersonville GA, but due to the rain, we only stayed a short time. Luck was with us, as the sky cleared and turned blue just as we arrived at the botanical garden in Athens GA. Unfortunately, the visitor centre was closed, so we strolled around the gardens, enjoying the fresh smell after the rain, as well as the early spring blooms. We plan to return! The next day we drove to Clemson SC, and visited the botanical garden there as well. It was a bit more rustic, with great paved pathways and interesting garden areas. Their visitor centre is in a home that was built for Southern Living magazine a few years ago. I would love to have a home like it! We drove through Ashville, and made a short stop in Black Mountain. On Saturday, we drove across Virginia, and DH took me to Jinny Beyer's Studio. It was great to see her complete pallette and many of the stripe border fabrics, as well as her newest collections. Even though I have been on a fabric diet, I HAD to get something. I found a border print that I just love, so got 3 yards, then 2 half-yd pieces, as well as a coffee mug with a small fabric collection. We stayed in Wilkes Barre PA last night, then continued home today, arriving about 2pm. Our DS2 was happy to see us, and helped unload the van. I still have lots of unpacking to do - 4 large rubbermaid totes as well as many other containers, suitcases, bags, boxes etc. Back to unpacking! (As you can see, I already have my notebook up and running and connected to our new wireless router!)
