OT Can you believe this stupidity?

The national news is on right now and commenting on our forest fire risk. They focused on Kelowna which has had over 250 homes burn and several historic train tressels in the Kettle Vally lost. They commented about the fact we are expecting rain, in fact we've had some light showers along with lightening locally this afternoon. They added that there is a high risk of increased winds fanning the Kelowna and othe almost

900 fires in the province that would come with the cooler air and rain/thunderstorms. Then the next story was how a fire happened in Stanley Park. For those who don't know Vancouver, Stanley Park is located in the heart of downtown and is approximately 1000 acres. Apparently some homeless men were using a propane stove and were unaware of the fire ban. How stupid can you be, yes, they don't have t.v., but come on folks, we've had no rain in I don't remember how long and very little all year. Fortunately they got the fire out. It's so bad, some municpalities have bans on smoking along beaches. Some fools have been BBQing and then dumping the hot coals near the trees. I will now descend from my soap box and say good night.
