OT Domestication of Rasputin the QI

For those who were following the "taming" of Rasputin . . . . .

He definitely shows a liking for quilts, but scuttles off fast when I come in the room as he is still not convinced that he is allowed to indulge in "quilt inspections". And although he comes into the warm at night, he stays out during the day and departs for his familiar shed before dawn.

However, meals are now communal, at least with Boofhead. Donut is still skittish around the newcomer, but I am pleased to report that there has been nothing more severe than a couple of quiet growls in all this time. Not one fight!!

If Raz keep growing at his current rate he will finish up being even bigger then Boof, who weighs in at about 8kg (18lbs). He is a very different puss to the scared, scrawny, starving little orphan who took shelter in the shed just a few months ago.

He looks magnificent Cheryl. Well done on getting him into shape. It's lovely to see their progress. There will soon be the three little heads in their bowls!! . In message , CATS writes

I'm usually pretty good at minding my own business but I do wonder what's going on out in the shed at dawn. You might ask when you have gained that beautiful kitty's confidence. Polly

Howdy!

Purty cat. How come he can't go near the quilts?

All the cats "can" (although I throw a sheet over things I make for others/as gifts) but Raz is a bit timid about being in the house and he THINKS he is doing something bad all the time.

It is quite funny to watch him work out things he is allowed to do and then throw himself into the enjoyment with an expression of sheer bliss on his face - like the day he figured out the heater wouldn't leap out of the wall and eat him, and that he could safely lay in front of it rofl.

But I think he will remain a mostly-outside cat for a while yet. He likes to spend the evenings inside with me, but I don't see him during the day and he is gone when I get up in the morning. I don't worry about him as I know he is just out in "his" shed. He won't stray far from here!!

What a beautiful boy he has become! Hard to believe it's the same kitty...... Me thinks he feels as if he is "home, sweet home". Nice!
