OT Got my Camera

I got the Kodak Z712 IS. Its 7.1 megapixel with a 12X zoom. Got it on sale because Wally World was rotating old stock out. This is last years model.

They're having a sale on the 2G memory cards also. A single card sells for about 19 dollars while the 2 pak sells for 24.97.

Now I can get the pics I need of my quilts for a quilt show.

All I need is a docking station. I already have a printer so am looking just for just the station. Who knows I might find that on sale also. Wish me luck.

Oh by the way I got the camera and memory cards for the price I would have paid for the camera alone, six months ago.

Another storm came through this morning, nothing like what we were hit with 2 days ago. Hopefully tthe weather will clear up and I can take some test photos.

Meanwhile, back to the weather Kate keeps sending over here - we've gotten more than 5½" of rain between 5 and 10 this morning. Don't know how much more; that's as high as the rain gauge goes. Enough already, Kate. Enough. Polly

Hey Amy

Well all the thanks goes to my cousin Phyllis. We've been in discussions about digital cameras for months. She is very literate in the operation of a digital camera including all the bells and whistles not included on a throw away camera. She has produced some beautiful pics.

I know from nothing about them and asked her advice, I bought what she recommended, after quite a bit of research on my part.

I asked about the kinds of cameras all you quilters use, because I specifically wanted it for photographing my quilts. She is not into quilting and recommended I ask all of you. I showed her some of the pics I took with a throw away. She got a real kick out the ones with my fingers over the lens. See I told you I know from nothing.

I am now in a learning curve. Even though I am (all fingers) this camera is quite easy to learn to operate. I was surprised I could even do it.

Hopefully I can produce pics of a quilt that will be accepted into a quilt show. I'm not looking to win, just get the quilt accepted.

Phyllis told me if I couldn't find the Z712 IS, then I should look at the Z812 IS. Its the same as the 712 but has the HD function. This camera is under 250 dollars.

I found a strange cable included with camera besides the USB cable. It is for connecting it to a TV.

Can you imagine taking pics at a quilt show then taking it to the Senior Center for a show and tell on a TV monitor no less.

If you decide to buy this camera, I hope you are as happy with it as I am.

Glad Phyllis and I both could help.

Well Polly I was just trying to find out if your boat would still float.

Actually I was trying to send it to Anne Belle, she really needs it and you were on the way, so..... I couldn't leave you out. I just wanted to share.
