Who just made the last payment on student loan from grad. school.
Congratulations!
Stupid question -- did you really NOT do any quilting for the duration? If you didn't, you have a whole lot more strength and determination that I did! Even during law school I always took Friday evening and all day Saturday off just for me -- to knit, watch TV, go out with friends, play with my sister's baby, etc. I didn't make Law Review, of course, but the afghan I made during a Chicago blizzard is more important to me, and taking time away from books kept me sane. I also had the cleanest refrigerator and freezer you could imagine, because every finals period I scrubbed the refrigerator and defrosted the freezer . . .
Anyhow, I hope you're keeping your diploma out somewhere for a while so you see it every time you walk by -- you earned it, and should enjoy it!
Been there and done that too. Doesn't it feel great! So much work and a wonderful sense of accomplishment. Congrats and onward and upward. I agree, post your diploma somewhere that you can see it often.
And happy quilting again!

Congratulations, Anastasia! That's simply wonderful! :D
So I say:
Yep. Not a stitch. Didn't cut a single fabric. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch.
I took 14 hours per semester for three semesters and 12 hours this last one. During the summers, I worked full time, sometimes with overtime. There simply wasn't any time.
I tell ya, though, come Sunday, I'm going to be working on nothing but quilts for a solid MONTH!

(who has been happy dancing herself for the last twenty hours!)
I can relate, when I was in Library School for my masters, I never got a chance to read for pleasure. I sure read a lot, but all for class assignments. I used to live for semester break and summer so I could read for fun. Hard for a life long reader. Of course, that was before I got serious about my quilting, but I am sure I would have had to let that go too.
