OT: House buying

Oh, what a 24 hours we've had!

Phone call from bank yesterday, not sure now if they can do the mortgage, what money do you have or can borrow from family? None is the answer!!!! Anyway, had a meeting first thing this morning, very serious to start with, 10 mins in, big smile on mortgage advisor's face, when he announces that we qualify for some Government scheme to get people house-buying and it is fine and it can all go ahead and see you on Saturday with DH for signing papers! We see the Notaire tomorrow evening to sort all the paperwork with the sellers.

Aaaaagggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! I'm suffering from sleep deprivation, what we were going to tell the sellers - oh you know that you knocked off all that money, guess what, the bank now says NO! So thanks anyway, goodbye! What a night!

Phew, it is all OK, but boy, I AM NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, ........GOING TO MOVE HOUSE AGAIN!!!!!!! If you heard that, please remember and remind me when I have a week moment.....BUT I WON'T!!!!!!!!!!

So once we've all signed and handed in our notice with our rental agent, packing to be done! Mind you, we never really unpacked when we arrived, because we never felt that settled.

Just to think ,last Wednesday we were inquiring whether we could get a mortgage and tomorrow we sign to say we want a house, with mortgage being agreed on Saturday, fingers crossed. Not bad in 8 days! To say our heads are in a spin, but the house is worth it, just feels like home. It takes 3 months to complete here, which works out well with the beginning of school holidays, in July.

Off to lie down in a darkened room now, I wish, but I'm teaching this afternoon, so I'd better sort what I am doing.....

Bye for now, one day I'll have time to quilt......

No wonder house-buying is way up there in the list of 'most stressful'. So glad it all worked out in the end. I absolutely agree with you about *never* wanting to move again. Hope all goes smoothly from here on in. . In message , Janner writes

So happy that things worked out for you! So now you might need to sew curtains, matching table cloth & place mats, and all kinds of things before you get to start quilting! Glad that you will have a sewing room. Barbara in Florida

OMG, Janner, what a stressful night you had! But all's well that ends well, as they say, so congratulations all over again that this is working out so well -- and so quickly! :D
