to do nothing all day, then rest afterwards. I can't remember where that quote came from, but it is SO appropriate for today!!
I took the xterra back and have a chevy malibu - roughly 500 miles on it and temp tags. Went to the grocery store to get s'mores makings as well as cookie stuff, then back home. lunch time, children went down for quiet time, as did Ken. I wrapped Christmas presents since both children keep coming into the sewing room....thank goodness for fabric piles, I can hide LOTS of stiff...lol.
Had family fun night tonight and it was a blast! children had hotdogs and tater tots, Ken and I had burritos and tater tots. We bundled up, grabbed the s'mores fixings and headed out to the fire pit (yes, the one I picked up the night the deer hit me). Toasted marshmallows and snarfed s'mores. Rebekah didn't eat her entire one, but she got enough....I think it must have been a good 30 minutes she was running around the yard like a junkie on speed. Kept singing the theme song for Micky Mouse ClubHouse and running off to the partially finished house that we are building for them. It was rather amusing for the rest of us.
Came back in and played LeapFrog Letter Factory and 2 rounds of Uno (1 round with rebekah "helping" me and one with her "helping" Ken). Afterwards we watched a Scooby Doo video (the old cartoon episodes) and the children are now in their rooms for the night.
Only sewing I did was to prep the background for 4 flags.
Now, I'm going to finish wrapping presents, hunt up boxes for the ones that need to be shipped, and just chill out. Believe it or not, this IS a day of doing nothing for me :-)
Tomorrow is Sunday school, church, home for lunch, back out for PTA bingo/fundraiser, home for dinner, Ken and Thomas out for AWANA, bed...then the week starts all over again with me trying to get the car towed to the shop, allergy testing, etc. and both children home starting Wednesday (Ken has off Thursday and Friday).
Larisa, enjoying the VERY atypical Saturday that we have had
