all day crop

Hi everyone, Lin and I spent Saturday at an all day crop. Had a really good time. Everyone there was so friendly, and we exchanged a lot of ideas and supplies. It is so interesting to see what others do and lots of ideas were floating around. Took a long lunch break and went shopping, (for new scapping supplies) of course. A great way to social while doing your favorite thing. Jan

Jan .so glad you and Lin had a crop together. I think that is the most fun of all. How could it not be? Happy scrappers doing what they love best! I hope everyone gets to go to crops and get-togethers often,it just makes the whole experience complete. It is just exciting to see a lot of people with their Navagators,XXLs and other totes all congregating in one place ! And the ideas are just flying ,generous people sharing ....what a lift it brings. Thank you for sharing!

I'm so glad you and Lin got to go to a crop! They're always fun. Did you get a lot of layouts done? It's always neat to see everybody's style at the crops, and all the fun of meeting new people and sharing ideas. Can you imagine what it would be like if we had one huge RCS crop? LOL

If we could only find a conference hall big enough to house us and all our supplies.

Then again, if we got together we would be so busy talking and gossiping and sharing our albums I doubt we'd get anything done. Then again, who knows.

We did have a great time! What I like about crops is seeing different styles and getting new ideas and seeing all the tools and goodies. Maybe having a valet to carry our supplies in would make it perfect! Jan there is one comig May 7, let you know more when I do. Lin

HI

My mom went to a stamping party this weekend and the owner of the store was kind enough to allow for travelling highchairs.

On the invite the owner wrote "Children are the reason for us to stamp, crop, & scrap but we all need our two hands. Bring your child if you must but bring a highchair or things for the little ones to do as NO babysitters will be provided."

Thank you all for your opinions. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being a hardass since my kids are 10 and 13 and I can tell them to amuse themselves elsewhere... when we are at home. My husband though was more than happy to watch the kids and let mommy have a night out. I just need to let my friend know that when Miss Rebecca starts grabbing things she's better off at home. My daughter grabbed a rotary cutter, while with my husband when she was 3. It was my cutter, but he wasn't watching her too good. Fortunately, she got only a 1/4 inch cut on the tip of her finger and that was it. I then learned I needed to Daddy proof the house too.

Kate, I think the owner of your crop had the right idea about bringing kids. We had little girls around 5-8yrs at our crop and most of the time they were well behaved. I have 15 grandchildren and I love to scrapbook about them, but not have them close by when I do it. I have one four year old that lives with me, and when I scrapbook, I give her paper, stickers, and pictures and she sits at her desk and "scraps" too. I'm not sure either of us would enjoy an all day scrap .Thanks for sharing.. Jan

I think that oener has the right idea. Though I have never been to a crop I can not imagine taking my girls with me if (when) I do go. My 5 year old DD works with me at home but she is tired after one or two pages and needs to do something else for awhile and my almost 4 year old would be on top of the table. Ugggg. They have stayed at home with Daddy when Mommy has an adult activity to go to since they were 6 weeks old and could have a bottle once a week. If my older DD stays interested I might take her with me once she is a teen cause then she could work on her own stuff and will hopefully know how to be respectful of the others.

This past Saturday i went to a Scrapbooking Discovery Day at Michaels where one lady had brought her 4 and 6(7??) year olds with her. They were grouchy and tired because it was too long for them and some of the things we could try were too hard for them. The teens that had come were fine though. I had a great time and learned how to use eyelets though. Now maybe I will try the March challenge to practice some more. Still looking for a tin for April.

Well my 3 year old has decided that Mommy has been at the computer for too long. Gotta go play some more.

I know how that goes Lorilee! My 3 yr old DS came and dragged me away from my craft table so I could build him a Lego race car. An hour later.....LOL
