Disappointed Crop

Our group's monthly crop was yesterday. On Saturday's I volunteer at the county museum in the mornings. As there was no one to relieve me yesterday I had to stay until 3 or close early and I hate to do that. I didn't arrive at the crop until 4 pm and it runs from 11 am till 11 pm. I hauled all of my supplies in (I am the one who brings the sizzix and dies) and got my table set up and started to scrap and socialize. The first person left at 5, followed by another a half an hour later. Then everyone else started packing up. The lady that runs the monthly crops only brought in a few page kits, no supplies and nothing to sell. By 7 she and I were the only ones left (besides my DD) and she packed her stuff up. She told me I could stay if I wanted to, but it is a huge community building in the middle of the local power plant property. I didn't want to sit out there alone with my 13 year old. I didn't even know how to regulate the temperature or close up the building, so we packed up and left too. DH was shocked when we came in the back door. He's usually in bed when we get home from the monthly crops. It definitely wasn't worth me packing up all of my supplies, including the sizzix and dies, and blocking out the entire evening. I did get 4 LO's done because they were power LO's ready to finish. I think I spent more time packing and unpacking than I did actual scrappin. I think from now on I will call and ask how long she is staying before I decide to go. Just needed someone to complain to. Sandy

Sorry the night didn't go as planned. They are lucky to have you and your Sizzix machine. I know how much I look forward to my crop nights too. Yes, that would be disappointing. I agree with you call first before you pack everything up and head out there. You may want to leave the Sizziz home and just do your Power LO's if it's going to be short night.

Oh man! That's a bummer! I agree about calling ahead. I have to leave any of the crops I go to with that group I mentioned a few weeks ago early because I have an 1+ hour drive back home, and it goes to midnight normally. So it's nearly 2am when i come crawling in the door. YIKES!

That's what we're here for... lend an ear to complain to :)

That's awful Sandy, I would've been disappointed too... actually, I would've been quite annoyed, especially considering the crop times were 11am-11pm! Hopefully the next ones will be better for you :o)

What a bummer! Maybe this was just an odd crop, and the next one will be much better. Not a bad idea to call first, though. But you still got 4 LO's done! :-)
