OT -Howdy Doody is ready to go!

The completed surrey top that I made has now reached my brother, and is installed on his restored child's surrey from the 50's. He sent me a photo on his cell phone, so I thought I'd share it with you.

What a lovely picture of a super piece of work, I shall now head off to bed humming "Surrey with the fringe on top"!

The surrey would be the perfect thing to ride in our local July 4th parade. Sorry it isn't closer or I would suggest to a local business that they rent it for the day, hang a sign on the back and enter it in the parade. It is so much cuter than all the politicians that will be clogging the parade. The political groups had become so plentiful that the parade committee has limited how many supporters can walk with each candidate. I do admire the politicians that walk the parade rather than ride in a car. At least they are showing that they are physically fit for office.

Only children will fit in it; my brother said he tried to get in, but his knees wouldn't fit. I guess the politicians could get in "if they didn't have a leg to stand on"! Oh, that's so bad......sorry.

My brother restores peddle cars and once in awhile he places an ad in the paper looking for them. That's how he got the surrey. The funny thing, though, as he was working on it he noticed that the kids two doors down from him were playing on one!! He went over to talk to their mom, and it had been her mother's as a child. He was able to use hers as a guide to restoring his. What are the chances that there would be two of them in such a small area? By the way, there is a blog, and lots of people are begging for new tops.....maybe I should go into the business!
