OT: I survived the garage sale

Well, we did it. A 2 day garage sale to get rid of stuff we really don't want to move. I even sold an old Brother SM for $75. All in all we pulled in $700 without selling furniture or big stuff. It was alot of work to prepare. My DDIL helped mark and organize the stuff. It was so hot (100 degrees) and humid. I drank gallons of water. Glad we had fans going in the garage. We started early, 7AM and ended at 1PM. Last night someone from a charity called and said they would pick up all the left-overs. Yippee! We were going to have to drag them out for a Bulk Trash pickup on Thursday. So at this point, we have 11days until moving day. The house is about 90% packed up. My sewing room is done. That took a whole day and I couldn't believe how many bins I had. Today I will call all the relevant numbers to change or cut off service on the appropriate day.

Ya, know? having just moved (ok 6 months ago) I have some advice for you. Yes, call the service people and have them do their thing. Then, the day after you are supposed to be no longer billed for the service, call them again and make sure they really did it.

liz young in sunny california, who spent waaaay too much time calling the cable company, over and over and over again. Also the termite people.
