OT - ice

We are getting iced out here in my area. Icy trees, and high winds, and more snow coming. I'm shutting down, and will check in during spring thaw.

Stay safe and warm. That goes for everyone getting the freezing rain and snow today.

Woke up this morning to a bit chilly temperatures. Right now it sits at around -38C (-36F) with a bit of a wind on top of it. Many vehicles are not starting and the air is so sharp it hurts your skin and lungs.

However, it does not shut down anything here. All schools are open, all business' are open, life goes on as usual. The schools here are never allowed to shut down unless it is a power outage or no heat or something like that. The weather does not affect anything as far as normal daily routines up here no matter how cold or how much snow.

Not unusual temperatures, just not used to them since we have been having such a variation of temperatures lately.

It sure is a bad storm, isn't it Karen. I went in to work this morning, not realizing the other attorneys involved had cancelled our scheduled depositions yesterday (because of the forcast) but had neglected to tell me. I stayed until noon and between the time I left for work in the morning and by the time I was on my way home, things had gotten way worse. I ended up getting stuck. Fortunately, I was only a block or so away from home by that time, but I'm sure not happy about it. David is already talking about me staying home again tomorrow.

if it got that cold here I'd be hibernating! I have a hard time imagining people going out in that kind of cold but I have seen a TV programme where they showed the coldest place on earth (somewhere in Siberia) and the kids played outside in hats and gloves and bare faces and were smiling and laughing like kids do and it was ***COLD*** it's amazing what people can get used to!

My DH always says, "There is no bad weather, just bad clothing". That does have some exceptions though. KJ
