OT Introducing Misty kitten

Handles can be fitted upside down! - Breeder of my former Burmese did this as one of hers had the door opening ability.

I'll remember that, Sally, if the need arises. She might by-pass door-opening and go straight on to nuclear physics >g< . In message , Sally Swindells writes

It is funny but I cannot take the credit, Pat. An English woman married to an American told me she had this on a tee shirt when her son was young! She eventually added two girls to the family, "Made in USA with British parts." LOL. PAT in VA/USA

I'm just glad you passed it on, PAT - whether you originated it or not! . In message , Pat in Virginia writes

Love the kitty, isn't it amazing how far out they can stretch their little necks? My Pinkee, Maine Coon Cat, can stretch her neck so far!

But Pat, the Morgan! I have been dreaming of a Morgan since the early '60s. The closest that I ever get to having one is occasionally seeing one of the Morgan clubs out on a week-end rally. Love that dream car!

Ah! A girl after my own heart. I sat in my first Morgan when I was 18 - umpteen years ago!! I decided, when I was about to have a 'special' birthday, that I would find a way to experience one. I found that you could rent them from the manufacturers - whose headquarters is only 45 miles from us here. So I rented one for a weekend - my own special treat to myself >gg<

I'm so glad I did. Sadly it cured me of my dream! I did love it, but I couldn't have one permanently for my car, as they are very noisy and draughty and extremely difficult to drive. Had I been in my 30's (or even more!) it would have been OK; but I had a marvellous three days, and wouldn't have missed it for the world. (If you have short arms, you might have to have it adapted, as the hand brake lever is set beyond the dashboard - way into the engine compartment!! Such a thrill though. The top comes off by unclipping 6 clips! the windows are two pieces of perspex that slide along the top of the door! and, on the model I looked at all those years ago, the exterior door handles were extras! What fun it all was. The one I drove was just 4 years old, so it had all the proper safety features, but the windows were still the same. . In message , Bonnie Patterson writes

The mere mention of a Morgan brings to mind one of the funniest incidents I've ever witnessed. A new Morgan was being delivered to a friend in Texas while I was there visiting. It was actually his BIL's, but my friend has a huge garage for his collection of cars and his BIL was in transit moving from Illinois to New Mexico. So it was easier to deliver it to Texas. The transport driver called when he was near so we (my DS, mother and I tagged along) could meet him to unload the car. After it was unloaded, my friend and son decided to take it for a little ride. OH MY! My friend isn't terribly tall, but he's got quite a girth on him. We had to put the top down because there was absolutely NO WAY he could slide in with it up. Well, there was almost NO WAY he could get in it anyway. Somehow he got one leg in and then was terribly stuck behind the steering whee with one leg in the car and one leg out. OMG....we almost died laughing. What a picture. My poor son was trying to be so helpful and serious and my mother and I were about to PIP. It probably took over 10 minutes to extract him and get him in that car properly. He wasn't pleased......but he was really glad it wasn't HIS car! DS was tickled pink to be able to ride in such a snazzy vehicle. I just wish I had taken more pictures.

Thanks Elly! And her eyes will stay blue. Her mother's were the same lovely aquamarine. Our Birmans' eyes are more sapphire-like. She's growing a bit 'leggy' now! Four months old on Sunday. . In message , Elly D writes
