Let's try to post more, ok?

I have this idea. Although I like the ads on this n/g, I really miss our members' posts about what they are doing design wise, what they've seen which inspires them, etc.

What do you think of this idea - could all of us commit to posting a non-ad post ONCE a Week?

I'll start. I've been making some Valentine inspired heart earrings using rose quartz puffy heart shaped beads and silver box chain, some with red "jade" hearts, and some glass hearts. Sold a pair today to a co-worker. Later this week, I'm going to try to work on an entry for the show ISGB and GAS is co-sponsoring. Deadline for this is February

23rd, I'm running out of time, but I do have an idea.

Sounds good to me... After months of being sick/tired/dazed/confused I've been feeling a bit guilty for just lurking but was feeling kind of out of the loop!! :) Guess I needed a cosmic kick. Post follows!

:)

I seem to be so anti-seasonal! I think about upcoming holidays etc but never seem to followup in time! I remember finishing a bunch of sterling and glass heart necklaces, earrings etc once... in late March!

Hello Patti,

I'm a french beader and brand new to this list. I'm a bead-addict since 2000 thanks to Emilie Hackbart and her wonderful projects... I think your idea is very nice. And I will post my jewelry too; but I feel like a little girl (almost a baby lol!) when I see what you, others, are creating. I also worked with polymer clay when I have time (loooooooooooooooooooool)...

I have only one question: how do I post images on the list?

I'm sending you cold kisses from Paris LOL (Lots of Love). Marylo

I've had two sick dogs, so I'm behind here, but I'd love to see a little more posting! I'd also love to see more pictures of what everyone's working on! I have a few I'll share when I catch up.

Sounds like a great idea. Although I'm working full time now and have even less time for beading or anything else, I am keeping my hand in using beads on ATC's. Some of my pics are located here:

trying this again, I tried last weekend but the post never showed up.

Half the time I'm not really sure what I'm doing, where I'm going, where I came from before I started the last umpteen things (give you an OT example: I was going to summarize the faults for the telescope I work at, thought I should respond to one of them (this was one I hadn't responded to yet but ought) and found that on the computer where the problem had occurred I couldn't create files. The disk wasn't full, the header space was. the original problem had been about a full disk. Some 5 or so years ago we decided that we didn't need a particular cron job anymore that was dealing with creating directories and such on a daily basis, forgetting that this thing was also monitoring disk space. It took another person and me most of the rest of the day to find it and make a proper disk monitoring job out of it. Was supposed to take 5 minutes, took more like 5 hours). I couldn't remember where I came from when I got done with that one. Other than that I got a few things done in the last two weeks that should have been done by last September, finally got over a sore throat (for 3 days, it's baaaack), been sick pretty much since the beginning of the year, even if in the last few weeks there wasn't more than a sore throat left. Had the kid here for about a month from mid December to mid January (she's back in Portland now, about 4 miles from Kalera, but the two haven't met that I now of), inherited another hand-me-down camera in the process, only 2.1 MP, but it's better than the old one.

Just realizing that this new Google interface doesn't let me change the subject.

In the meantime, other than work stuff: made Christmas stuff and sold none of it, made some Valentine's bracelets and earrings and sold none of those, all pretty much the same-old though, but before Valentine's Day sold one of my old Job's Tears only choker and bracelet combinations. Branched out a bit into eyelash leis and scrunchies, some earrings with cheap Chinese lampwork beads (sorry, but in this market I can sell those sometimes, when people have money left over after getting their food bought and I happen to have just the right color/length/ whatever). Went to something of a bead show today, looks like a store from Kauai came over here to sell something, and bought some onyx, turquoise, garnet and peridot beads. I still can't believe how expensive peridot is. It is found on beaches here.

Got some Job's Tears picked, probably not half enough for the year yet, but working on it. (AD part here: if anybody is interested, I have some, about 10 lb right now, but I already know that that isn't going to get me through the year.).

I''ll try to post more again, but once a week is probably out, at least until July (or so, depends on how work goes).
