Misty Fuse

Ok... first everyone laugh really hard... ok... got it out of your system??!! Let's just say someone was playing with hot objects really late at night.... and say they read the directions to Misty Fuse wrong and sandwiched the freezer paper to the Misty Fuse instead of the fabric... anyone know of a way to get that freezer paper to release from the Misty Fuse?? I've tried re-heating with absolutely no luck. I can not have been the only person to have done this... right?!

I don't know if this works with Misty Fuse or not, but putting it in the freezer works when Wonder Under won't release...

rofl, sorry, if Kathys freezer trick doesnt work, as long as you got your head in the freezer, grab some ice, make a nice 'long well loaded with alcohol' drink of your fancy and sit back and ponder the workings of the universe. jeanne

Thank you very much! I've tried re-heating and soaking and water, with no luck, I'll go stick one in the freezer and see if it works! Thanks! I can say, Misty Fuse adheres better than any fusible I have ever worked with before

Why is it so important to get misty fuse off the back of freezer paper????? Neither one would have any value if you could manage it.

I think margaritas and chocolate might be an essential part of the artistic process... ;-)

Oh they are... as well as two very important food groups... ;-)

By the way, that did loosen it some what from the fabric, but not the misty fuse.... and you still have to pull enough that the bias edges are not happy.... oh well! Round two coming soon ;-)

Howdy!

It was a dark & stormy night, cold, bitterly cold, the kind of cold you get when you're in the middle of a hot-flash and you slide into the walk-in freezer for just a moment's coolth and the door slams shut behind you and no one knows you're there and you wait, shivering and shaking w/ your teeth chattering until the Blue Bell Ice Cream truck driver comes in w/ a new load of sweet, delicious icey treats and discovers you huddled in a pool in the corner where your hot-flash overcame the frost on the frozen pie shells and everything started to melt but you don't care 'cause you're going thru' hot-flashes and cold chatters like the yellow warning light flashing at the intersection of Red Fern & Calendar Road and you just want some relief, Relief, RELIEF!!!! -- that's the kind of cold that Misty Fuse felt that night, that dark, stormy, cold night when she just wanted a little relief from the mothe_ _ _ ____ *beep*ity*beep*beep* hot-flashes, the kind that make you feel like someone's been holding a blazing hot iron against your... ... ...to be continued... .

I have never used misty fuse but after nosing around it looks like it is pretty neat stuff when used with adult supervision. Where do you buy the stuff? ANy chance Joann's sells it or is there a good online source? Hope you win round 2! Taria

Yes.... any volunteers to supervise me??!!! :-) I think it's pretty readily available. I picked some up at the LQS, but I would think any of your usual online places carry it too. Comes in black and white which is nice as well. You find a lot of online projects that call for it.

I like it. I've been using it on "the quilt that will never be finished" sigh.

I got mine at

They have it in the package as well as by the yard. I also noticed that it's available at amazon.com (go figure) in the office supply section (clearly they don't know what it is)

Jo-Ann's does not sell Misty Fuse that I know of. I ordered some from SewThankful.com, and got it on sale too. Haven't had a chance to try it yet, but plan to soon.

Some of the LQSs here carry it too.
