OT: Mineral Make-up??

Does anyone here use that "mineral make-up?" I keep seeing ads for it - how you can sleep in it, how it's supposed to be *good* for your skin, and how it's supposed to be "flawless" ... and I was wondering if any of ya'll have used it and if so, did you like it??

I bought the cheaper version (Max Factor, I think) and hated it ... but was wondering if perhaps it was just because it wasn't the "real deal." It just seemed so much heavier - no matter how lightly I applied it or how much I "tapped" the applicator - and felt oogie!

What I usually do is use liquid foundation and dilute it with moisturizer ... but like I said, I heard that the mineral stuff is supposed to be

*really* good for your skin - and with my skin, I need all the help I can get without being all cake-y but still getting good "coverage"!!

Any opinions??

TIA!! :)

I use L'Oreal mineral makeup and really like it. My skin tends to be dry and I am 56 years old. I think it looks more natural. I get it when it's on sale, buy one get one half price.

My daughter in law uses Arbonne and she loves it. Of course that costs alot more than what I buy (but she sells Arbonne).

I wondered if it would be anything like face powder...dry looking on a face ???? I've been intrigued by the ads too ! I only use under eye cover , mascara and blush, lipstick. Can the mineral make up be used for undereye coverage?...

Connie, I use the Neutrogena brand, but I hate the brush so I shook it into the cap and I use a kabuki brush that fits in there. I really like the makeup. I can't stand the feel of liquid makeup any more.

I bought the concealer as well and it works pretty good.

I use the 'real deal' Bare Minerals make-up and love it. It lasts forever because you use so little of it each day. It's QUICK to put on. No one really notices I'm wearing make-up, just that I look good and healthy. My skin can breathe through it. And when I wash it off at night (you can sleep in it, yes, but it will rub off on your pillow) it feels great - that gentle scrub feeling of have ground minerals being rubbed off with a warm wash-cloth. I like it a lot and will never switch back to the other. I use it on my face and on my eyes, with regular lipstick.

Yes! I use Bare Minerals! Using the medium shades for the last year plus a little. I love it! Never used makeup before, and this looks so natural. Evens out my skin which is ruddy looking. Very good for my [oily] skin. If you use moisturizer, try to give yourself as much time as possible before putting on the mineral make-up. I use the face powder plus the tinted mineral veil. A little bit goes a long way! Still have the original starter pack, so now you know it lasts so long! It's pricier but lasts. My $60 investment over a year ago means less than $5 per month - such a deal!

A total convert here!

Think about it in evolutionary terms. Women evolved for several million years in the grasslands of East Africa, with not very much water around to wash in and their skins continually dusted with windblown dried red earth. So of course that's what's going to be best for the skin.

But don't forget to add small amounts of dehydrated elephant and lion dung.
