OT - My laugh for the day

From the Sheriff's Dispatch Daysheet in our local weekly newspaper:

"Abandoned vehicle at Hwy ___ and ____ Rd. The vehicle is not presenting a hazard, but it is being guarded by an aggressive chihuahua."

We used to live next door to a chihuahua that was definitely aggressive and very ill-tempered. He would sit out in their car all day long and bark his foolish little head off if anyone had the audacity to walk by HIS car!

We are told that a house burglar would much rather encounter a Doberman who can be distracted by a nice sirloin that a Chihuahua who much prefers the taste of the unprotected bones of the ankle. Don't know any law enforcement guys willing to annoy an aggressive Chihuahua. While we're talking about this - PLEASE protect your nice FedEx, UPS and mail carrier folks. Confine your QI when packages are coming in. Bites hurt! Polly

Good one!

You know, it is amazing to me just how many chihuahuas appear on Cesar Millan's TV programmes! Proportionally speaking, I have a feeling they are the most numerous breed >g< I 'knew' one when I was in Canada, years ago; and his favourite 'trick' was to lie in hiding under the sofa and then bite the backs of heels of anyone who sat down on it! The chihuahua that belongs to the mother of my good friend, hates him. He attacks when Paul's back is turned.

Many years ago when I worked in a veterinarian's office, we had some real nasty little chihuahuas. The dr showed me that you use the pressure points right under their ears and cup your hand under their neck, lifting them up. They kinda go into a stupor [probably from lack of blood flow/oxygen] long enough to give them an exam. Yes, a mean thing to do but the only way he could get them through a visit.

Oh dear, sorry to chuckle Ginger; but they really are very naughty (it's all that thinking they are Rottweilers!!) . In message , Ginger in CA writes

They're blaming that on the movies (Beverly Hills Chihuahua and that animated one whose name I forget at the moment).

And there was the Taco Bell ad chihuahua.

Not to offend anyone here who owns a chihuahua, but they can be pretty agressive [I can attest to cases heard in my courtroom about this!], and they seem to be a pretty in-bred line of dogs now due to their popularity.
