Re: Mostly OT: My day

I'm sure that you will be wonderful parents to an adopted child, good luck, I hope it goes well for you. You'd think in this day and age the IRS (and our ATO) would transfer the fund electronically instead of risking cheques in the post. Sheesh. Hope things turn around for you soon.

Jalyne

so sorry your plans didn't go quite the way you hoped.

But you seem to have a warm and loving heart -- and I bet there is some special little baby out there that will become yours someday...

You can get electronic filing done-- and thereby a quicker return. I think you have to go through a professional preparer, though, and there is a charge for it over & above the preparer's fee. Kaytee "Simplexities" on

Yeah, we do that, but this was the *additional* return they are giving out right now, $400 per child. They said that they couldn't do it the way the normal returns are done. We're lucky, we do the e-filing and preparation for free. There is a military agency that does it for us. Sometimes being in the Navy is good....well, a lot of times...LOL

it could be the rain we're having...who knows...LOL. Or just my luck...

Sorry to hear that. We've had our share of "not good" as well, but we're working past it. Next tour is overseas...hopefully London or somewhere in Germany. Hawaii wouldn't be bad either....and i dream of Australia....

not that the birds and deer don't like them, mind you . . .

]Often, no.

i'd bet we blame those on the birds, scattering the seeds.

i have a really hard time imagining why anyone would plant them except in rows in an orchard. but up here, they are everywhere.

No kidding, they're everywhere here, as well. But I'd prefer not to have to run away from the cops like we did yesterday. Ok, so we were on public property, so we shouldn't have had to leave, but the police here are really weird about stuff. It was a fun day anyway. We're going to get more this week and next, and then more the week after. We plan on making wine with a lot of what we gather, but also stockpiling for the winter months, and some for now.

well, it MIGHT be that those berries have been sprayed and they want to keep people away. who knows. cities get really strange sometimes.

nah, they weren't sprayed. we have been watching it very closely all year...LOL. we've been scoping it out. Especially this area, since it's been blocked off for three years.

our local police are just weird. When i saw the officer's face, i recognized him as the officer who pulled me over for making an illegal U turn, when I hadn't, in fact done anything wrong. Good thing i wasn't driving my car that has the CA plates on it. Hehe.
