My special day is about over. I was 70 today. A few years ago I thought I would not make it to this day but I would not give in.
I have had a lovely day today, First of all I went to be pampered at the hairdressers. Then DH and I went into Chesterfield to do some shopping and called in an old pub for a light lunch. I had several cards in the post and a lovely bouquet of flowers from the staff at the library were I used to work. My GD rang up and wished me happy birthday so did my sister and two friends. Another friend came to see me and I had a surprised visit from my Great niece.
Our youngest son came to see me but alas my eldest had to go and rejoin his ship early this morning. We did have a family party on Sunday.
DH and I dinner together at home, We had asparagus and Canadian lobster with a bottle of champagne. Then of course my birthday cake.
So now it is time for bed, another birthday over. Shirley
