AD- Tuesday listings from Tillerman Beads

It's Wednesday now for me, but I was up last night here late getting our newest listings for both JustBeads and eBay up.

We're also putting up sets in the online shop regularly, if you want to be on our mailing list, sign up on our website or drop me an email.

Mike's been so inspired by having the new studio, he's working hard daily making beads and working on his techniques and style.

Thank you all for your support and friendship. It would not have been possible for him to progress as he has without it.

Thanks, Cindy. Mike's been working hard on technique lately. Today I sent him off to the studio and told him to just have a play with the glass with nothing particular in mind.

Should be fun!

Hi Su, what are you thinking of? Letting Mike loose with his imagination. Next thing you know he'll be making critters;) . I can just hear him now, ! HA! I wouldn't lower myself to Em's level" (he he he)

LOL, Em!

He'd never make critters as nice as yours.

I did make some beads today, you will breathe a sigh of relief to know you're in no danger of competition yet!

Congrats on your critter auction! (well, congrats for me winning them!)

I can't wait to see them! I have plans for a complete alien landscape using your little guys.

You couldn't tell what I was thinking of when I named those sets, eh? I thought I'd give the Black Douglas a rest for a while.

Thanks, Polly! I'll tell Mike, he's really been enjoying the whole studio setup. He's been feeling more adventurous in colour selection and he's been working hard on his techniques with glass. Every time the kiln is finished, it's like a little treasure chest of beads.

I can only imagine... How can you stand it? I would be saying "mine, mine, mine" to everything. :)

It's funny, they're all great but I know it's like raising chickens. They're cute when they're little but eventually you're up to your behind in poultry.

Not that it would be a bad thing to be up to your behind in beads but selling the ones Mike makes just spurs him on to make more!

Aren't I clever?

Thanks, Barbara. He was pleasantly surprised at the reactions of the purple glass. Some glass behaves itself and some just comes out of the flame the way it wants.

I'm making lists of dessert titles for the next bead series. I'll resist the obvious ones that are British stodgy favourites.

Very nice. I really like the "Plum Duff" set. Great colors.

Can I make a suggestion? A lot of people just search titles and not descriptions (I know weird huh?). On most of your auctions you do not have the word "lampwork" in the title, only on the subtitle which is not searched when a buyer looks under title only.

Looking good Mike.

Wot! No rice pudding one. LOL

There was a nice one in a recent GI recipe called Cranberry Fluff. I must try it. Shirley

You're so funny, Shirley! I thought you'd ask for something more interesting, but those non-Brits might not understand the allure of something called 'Spotted D*ck (name altered to protect us from the p*rn spammers). I'm fond of golden syrup sponge myself or sticky toffee pudding with loads of custard.

Cranberry Fluff, eh? Sounds tasty.

Thanks, David!

It's wonderful having the space. I think the actual floor space of the studio is greater than the total floor space of our boat. Being able to leave projects out and having room to just put everything to hand is not only great but seems to help the whole creative thing.

Good luck with your studio, I am sure that as amazing as your glass is now it will take yet another leap forward with the surroundings. It does make a difference when you can be completely comfortable in your working space.

Thanks for the suggestion, Lara. It's becoming a genuine skill to simply get the titles right with all the initials that people now use to search. I know that the first thing I do is put up a search filter to remove the AHian style beads.

I'll change the titles next time and see what I can do with nudging everything closer together. At least on JustBeads the categories are simpler, cleaner and less crowded with AHian stuff but on eBay it's becoming a nightmare to get things listed.

Cheers,

Well you could have "Jam Roly Poly" used be a favourite in this house. The there is Queen's puddings and Manchester Tart. All old school meal faves. Shirley

Polly who got real shortbread from Scotland for Christmas and ate them ALL myself! :)

Polly, shortbread is good even when it's not from Scotland. :-D

There's a bakery in Yorkshire that does divine shortbread. The thing I like best from Scotland (aside from kilts and the accents) is dark chocolate covered ginger biscuits.

Yumm.

I'll swap you shortbread for Cajun stuff anytime!
