OT - Office Chairs

Since so many of us know how important it is to have a good chair while sewing, I have a question...

Can office chairs with that hydraulic lift thingie that lowers and raises the chair, be fixed? The hydraulic oil has gradually leaked out (witness a dark spot on my carpet) and that lever that is supposed to lover/raise the chair won't work. The chair is on the lowest level and won't stay raised. This is OK if you don't mind that your knees are under your chin, but otherwise....

This chair was expensive and I hate to think it's a total loss. Can it be fixed, and who can fix it?

We have someone come into our office every two months to fix chairs. If you like, I'll ask the admin assistant for more info. I know you aren't in Tucson, but it would give you a hint on where to look. At least you know the chair can be fixed.
