OT: Pink Ribbon reminder

I had my annual mammogram today. If it's been more than a year since you've had one, it's time to make that appointment. It's been 10 years since a routine mammogram found early stage cancer in my left breast. I had a lumpectomy and radiation, and all has been well since.

Julia,

One of my sisters is a 10 year breast cancer survivor. She'll be having reconstruction surgery next month for the 2nd or 3rd time so please keep her in your thoughts on the 13th. I just "graduated" from having a 6 month mammogram to a yearly one, hooray!

Thanks for the reminder,

Judie

And don't forget your Pap smears either. I had a "scare" not long after we got married (15 years this year - yay!) and went through the mill of biopsies etc. Then yearly smears and now back to 3 yearly smears (standard interval here in the UK). Yes its undignified (but who has any dignity left after having a baby), yes it can be uncomfortable but it can also be lifesaving.
