OT: Prayers Please

Just got word that my mother in Florida fell and broke her nose and hit her head badly. She managed to call 911 and was taken to a trauma center. My sister is on the way there now. They will apparently be releasing her, but my sisters are worried because she is on coumidin and tends to have a lot of internal bleeding. Of course it is a holiday weekend. They haven't been able to reach her regular doctor. The hospital they took her too is quite far from the house and my sister has been sitting in traffic for almost 2 hours on the way so we don't know much.

Oh my. I've done the badly broken nose thing and your mother has my total sympathy. Here is my wish/prayer/fervent hope that she has a quick and full recovery. Where in Florida is she, if I may ask?

The exact same thing happened to my aunt 2 weeks ago. She tripped over a mat going to dinner at her Retirement Community. She also landed on both knees, and because of the coumidin, ended up with a bruised face, and bruises from her knees to her ankles! She had to go to an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist to have her nose checked out, and has been taking therapy every day since for the knees. Two good things came out of it....she's recovering very well, and has decided that now is the time to move from her apartment into Assisted Living. She will be 94 in May! Best wishes for your mom's recovery.

She is in Tamarac. I spoke to her last night but she was hyped up on pain killers. Talked to my sister this morning and she seems OK but pretty banged up. There is a large lump on her head and her arm is bruised up. Her eyes are starting to blacken and she has a huge bandage on her nose.
