prayers please

This time it's personal. I had an accident tonight and am a bit sore from it. I didn't go the hospital becasue there was no way for Ken to get there with the children - DDs carseat was in the van. Bambi decided to cross the road out of the blue....I didn't even see the deer until it had already hit the van.

From what I can see, it is possible that they decalre it a total loss

because of all the damage - drivers side front panel is caved into the wheel well, lights are hanging by the wires, hood and front bumper and damaged nearly to the midpoint...and ALL the sensors came on! Air bag didn't deploy because of the site of initial impact, but the sensor went off, the engine light, oil light, and just about every other light were lit up so that it looked like Christmas had come early.

Rescue personal checked me over and determined that since I had full mobility of neck and shoulders that they really didn't need to take me to the hospital unless I chose to go. However, both they and the insurance lady said that, if I needed to go to the hospital tomorrow, that they could add it to the claim for consideration.

So, I've taken Advil and have a tera-patch or whatever they are called, on my shoulder and Ken and I are still running on adrenaline so either we won't get to sleep or else we will both just shut off.

Good thing is that the children were NOT with me.

Thanks, Larisa

Larisa,

I am so sorry about your accident and am also glad that the children were not with you and glad you don't appear to be hurt. If you have the least bit of odd pain please go to the ER because insurance will not pay, if needed, if you don't go soon. Will keep you in my prayers and thoughts.

ouch! gentle hugs to all of you. I had that happen to me on my way home from work at the Sheriff's Dept, when I lived up north. It was 2AM, first I thought it was my imagination. That imagination left deer hair and crunches in my car.

Please do not hesitate to get to a hospital if you feel the need to.

I'm so glad you weren't seriously injured, although I suspect you'll be sore tomorrow. Sending gentle hugs.

OMG - what a terrible thing to happen!!!! I know you are sore today but I think you really might want to consider going to the dr. tomorrow. Residual damage/pain might be significant even though you don't feel it tonight. I am glad the kids weren't with you but I'm sorry you were alone to go through this. Do you know what happened to the deer?

take care of yourself..... Laurie G. in CA

How terrifying! So happy you are OK! But please just get yourself checked over tomorrow -as you say, you are running on adrenaline, and it makes you able to tolerate more pain. There might be something the rescue people missed. Roberta in D

Got your candle lit.

That is the expensive way to bag a deer. Next year save yourself some trauma and just get your tags and a shotgun. :)

dead..which was a good thing, because the police officer told me that if it wasn't, I'd have to watch him shoot it

I don't hunt! Up until last night, I was horrified that people would hunt deer and some even tossed the ones they hit into the back of the truck...now I just can't stand the dang things

The advil and heat pad seemed to have helped quite a bit. I am continuing to take stock of anything that feels "off". Right now I'm a bit light headed, but then again, I haven't eaten anything since 5pm last night.

Kids are fine, Ken is fine. He and I are both quite tired this morning and I'm a little gun-shy about getting into a car today, which is why we are home and not at church. I have notified the church so that they could get a message to our Sunday school teachers, so hopefully things are covered there.

I'm a little sore but otherwise doing fine. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. We are keeping a close watch to make sure there is nothing else off about me. Will update again if htings change.

Yikes!! I am so happy all is well physically. I did that about a year ago. Biggest buck I have seen. Got me,DH and XLR. Lucky I was braking and only got a glancind blow on the left hood. Car cost insurance Co. $10000. to fix the crumpled and missing parts. You will see that in your dreams for a long time. We and you are some of the lucky ones that survive. Even our Buck survived, bet he was sore though. God took care of you. Jeanbaby

I'm so glad you are OK and that the kids were not with you. It could have been so much worse. I *hate* hitting deer; this is their mating season so they are much more active than usual....
