OT: Took a spill

I fell down the stairs this afternoon -- headfirst. I went to put my right foot down and it wouldn't move. I've gotten cocky lately as most of my neuropathy symptoms have gone away. I was even thinking remission. Damn. I hit the wall at the bottom of the stairs with my temple. You can imagine what I look like -- swelling around my eye, purple above and below, big knob on my temple up into my hair. I've kept ice on it for hours now and it's helped some. What a boob I am.

I'm going to be quiet for a while. Glasses won't go on my face so I'm doing this with my nose on the screen.

Hugs to you all, Sunny

Oh Sunny, what a terrible thing to happen -- my heart fell when I read this! That's the type of fall that could give you a concussion. I hope that, other than some bruises, you are all right?

Oh Sunny, I am so sorry you took such a terrible spill. Hopefully the next few days you will be able to get some rest and not get too sore. Please take it easy.

Sunny -- I think we need to wrap you in cotton and wool batting -- thickly -- for the next week. Seems like 2007 has singled you out! We need to get you safely into the new year... where we hope you will find only GOOD things happening!

Seriously, tho -- do take care of yourself! Hope your bruises fade quickly and the swelling disappears quickly as well.

Hey, Sunny! They say properly applied leaches are great for those swollen bruises! Send hubby out to the nearest 'crick' to grab a few for you..... VBEG

Seriously, tho, hope you heal quickly and your poor body isn't too stiff and sore from the fall. *Please* be careful with yourself!

Goodness, Sunny! What have we told you about hurting our dear friend??? Shame on you!! :(

Seriously, though, please rest and drink lots of fluids - it will help the swelling go down and the bruises fade. My MIL (though bear in mind she plays with a few cards shy of a full deck most times - but what the heck? She may be right this time!!) swears by Vitamin C in fading bruises.

I really hope that you take better care of yourself - at least half the care you take of your loved ones!! Come back SOON!! We miss you!!

Hugs!! Connie

I'm trying guys, I'm trying! It looks like we will start looking for a single-story house in the next few months. I've fallen down these stairs a good dozen times since we moved here. Balance, drop foot ..... you name it. But never head first before. Thank goodness I hit with my head -- something too hard to break!

I have already decided that 2008 will be the best year possible. I am looking forward to a marvelous year filled with great hope and beauty and excellent stitching! And the same for each and every one of you. And just to make sure, I'm going to be very, very sure to eat my black- eyed peas this year.

Hugs,

I just had a vision of Sunny wrapped in a roll of bubble wrap! I hope you are well on the road to recovery by now, Sunny. Take care and watch out for those stairs!

Sorry to hear about that Sunny. I hope the hurt soon goes away.

You will have to take more water with your whisky. LOL Just joking, it is a favourite saying over here when someone has a mishap.

Healing hugs to you. Shirley
