OT weather related

I think someone here posted a really good site for watching the storm tracks. It showed where it had been, and also where it was projected to go. The screen was animated and easy to read. I can't seem to find it again....sigh....I should have saved it. I'm trying to see if my brother's house will be in Ike's path. I hope it fizzles out before making to to Texas and surrounding areas.....everyone has had ENOUGH!!! Anyway, could you repost the link if you happen to recognize which site I'm remembering? Thanks.

Kathyl, check your history, use the search thingy there. just type in storm, see what comes up. it wasnt that long ago that link was posted so should be in your history still. if its not there, i'll have a look for ya in mine. then i suggest you increase the time frame on saved history in IE. easy peasy in tools/internet options/general tab in history settings. cheers, j.

I thought of that Jeanne, but as I cruised through it, I still couldn't find it. I'll increase the time frame. I googled some other hurricane trackers, but none seemed as clear and concise as the one I was looking for. I'll go look again....it HAS to be there!

Here's the one I like. You have to go to the bottom of the page when you get there but it will offer you 5 different charts/pictures/whatever + a written summary.

Thanks Polly. I know this wasn't the one I was watching earlier...but there is certainly a lot of info there. I've saved it too.

How I would love to get Cantore and all the others that stand out in the storms and just nag them to pieces How I would love to. Why don't they consider whether that 'event' is worth their eyes? I just don't think they realize how those winds could ruin their sight. Is there anybody who wouldn't applaud if they'd put on some goggles? Sight is such a precious gift. Polly

LOL. Now here's a picture. Can't you just see Cantore leaning into a tall wind dodging stop signs and tree limbs . . . and here comes on screen an angry little old lady with a willow tree switch saying "You put your goggles on or I'm going to give you a lickin' you'll never forget". Yes. It could happen. Just pretend you don't know me. Polly

I find that

is a really useful place to look for things that have disappeared. You can just put a key word into the Search bit and every thread containing that word comes up, so if you put the name of a storm everyone had been talking about, all the posts would come up (so don't just put the word 'quilt' in!!), so if you knew there was once a post about Pavlova you can find it again. If it was a recent thread and you have forgotten the name but prefer to read in your usual way, it tells you what the thread was called so you know what to look for!

You can put a Senders name in too, and also a thread name if you can remember it.

It goes back about 5 years!

Try this -- it's looking not so good for Corpus Christi but perhaps okay for Houston.

Thanks! He does live in Houston, but is in Canada for a trip right now. I was curious as to whether he'd have a mess when he got home (Or if he could GET home) this weekend. Flying could be tricky, but it appears his house won't be in the middle of it all. Thanks everyone for the links. I now have almost as much information as Jim Cantore! lol
