OT: Woot!

At 11:30 tomorrow we receive a check from the refinance of our home. Two contractors are currently working on bids for the septic rebuild and a third will be at our house tomorrow morning early to look at the situation prior to making a bid. Work could begin as early as the end of next week.

I'm done mourning the gardens and trees that will be lost. I'm ready for this mighty thing to be done and over and to get started rebuilding. Also to flush again. And do laundry in the house. And take showers. And wash dishes. It truly is the 'little things' that you miss.

You folks have been my rock through all this. Thank you. My friends here in town have let me shower at their homes, do laundry in their washing machines, and drink untold gallons of coffee in their kitchens while that laundry is whirling around in their washing machines. I love my friends everywhere. I'm lucky beyond any words I can say and I'm so very happy. To quote the famous songwriter/singer Randy Newman: ' My life is gooooooood.'

Hugs and many thanks for the prayers and good wishes and support and gifts and ..... for being you, Sunny

I'm so glad that everything has worked out o.k. for you! It's got to be sooo hard not to be able to use the water (flush, shower, wash) that we all take so-for-granted! Here's positive vibes that the work goes smoothly and well-done, and that life will return to a (somewhat) "new normal" ME-Judy

With the bids coming in, work could start as early as Wednesday of next week. Expected finish time is 7-10 days. We'll have to spend probably two nights in a hotel just for comfort and sanity sake. Jo will be boarded as soon as work begins. I can't put him through that much confusion, noise and destruction and no place for him to go potty because both yards will be ripped out at the same time and big work machines will surround us. Wow, a boy's dream.... lol.....wouldn't my sons have loved this when they were small? I feel so much better already. We signed papers today and money is on its way to the bank from our house refinance/equity empty. Just slugging through the paperwork and getting most of these piles out of the way is wonderful. And we received the work permit from our county Health Department today. I took plans in Tuesday and they said two weeks for approval. I told them what is the situation and the wonderful, kind lady said 'We'll have it for you today.' They have been absolute life-savers in that office. I will not object to paying my county taxes ever again.

Life is good. I thought that as I pushed the baby home in the pram the other day, when the sun was shining and the bird were singing. Indeed it is the little things that make it all worth while. Think of all the friends you have visited and talked to while having those cups of coffee and washing those clothes..... could have been under better circumstances, but it was great they could show their love for you in such a practical way.

So glad this is getting sorted out for you, and you've found a way forward. Start planning your new garden, for what will go in once the project is finished! I'll bet Butterfly could recommend some rose bushes for you as well. :)
