Pictures of leaf quilting

I made the stack of pattern papers. But I only needed a couple of them to mark my quilt. I guess I was remembering the sewing on the paper instructions. The paper does wear out a bit when swiping with the Pounce pad, but not bad.

Kathyl: Lovely ... and so much easier than quilting leaves, I am sure. :) Your topic line momentarily gave me an image of a quilter using autumn leaves for the quilt fabric!! I need more coffee .... excuse me while I shuffle downstairs for another cup of Kona Chocolate Raspberry Coffee.)

Kathyl: For some odd reason, I probably would have placed the paper with smooth side up. So, now I want to know if there is some special reason for your way. I certainly will try it both ways, but for those of us who are incurably curious, please let us in on the secret. TIA, PAT in VA/USA

The bumpy side up creates a friction for the chalk marker. It pulls the chalk out of the Pounce pad when it's passed over the rough paper. Otherwise, the chalk wouldn't come out of the Pounce.

I agree with you there. I have some Golden Threads paper and traced a pattern that I then MQ'd over. It was easy to sew thru but pulling off the paper afterwards was a pain even tho it did rip easily. I think if it was a repeat pattern (like the leaves) that the pounce idea would be less frustrating.

Kathy, this is a great quilting pattern! Could be adapted in many ways for other quilts and not too impossible to keep track of (which is important for me!)

Take care.
