PING: Kathyl aka KJ

I was just browsing your pics and I LOVE your whirlpool quilt (waiting to be quilted).

I trust there were templates for this quilt? Who designed the pattern?

Or were you just on a wild and crazy creative streak?

Thanks!

Kate, I'm not KJ but I know the answer. That is a pattern from Virginia Walton, and made using her Creative Curves rulers. (Mine is cut out and on a "flannel board" and needs to be finished. But I don't have the room at the moment to work on it. sigh.) One of my guilds had Virginia as a speaker a while back, and she did this as a workshop. That is when I started mine.

Thanks.....I can't take any credit for any part of it except the careful piecing. It was a kit my DH bought for me at a quilt shop a few years ago. It's a pattern and ruler from Virginia A. Walton of Creative Curves.

< a book with the pattern. I have to say that Virginia is a very helpful author. I was a bit confused when I started this pattern so I called her. She anwered my call and was careful to explain everything. In fact, she mailed me a helpful addition to the pattern to make the outer pieces easier. As you can see from the webpage, my quilt will be a copy of hers. But when it's hanging in my home, there will only be a handfull of people who will know that. I will also say it was one of the most difficult pieces I have ever pieced!
