Hi Marcella,

I was in my quilting class today & one of the students had a picture of your guild's Opportunity Quilt. She was asking if anyone knew if there was a pattern for it, so I said I'd check with you. It is adorable. I hope I can make it to your show this year.

The block pattern is from the 1992 Piecemakers calendar. The blocks were actually donated by a guild member who had participated in our friendship block program (where you pick the pattern and people make blocks for you) She decided she'd never turn them into anything. Some members made a few more so we'd have enough blocks for our raffle quilt. The house is always the same but people made the "landscape" whatever they chose. Then the committee designed the setting with all the little squares.

Anyone curious can see a picture on the guild website at

Thanks so much Marcella. I'm not familiar with Piece makers, but I googled it & I think I found it - the picture is soooooooooooo small, but I think I see the house up in the far left corner. Wow - your quilt is so cool - I like it better than I do the calendar.

Are you guys going to bring your quilt over to our Guild to sell tickets? Our meetings are on the 3rd Wednesday evening of the month, except, no meeting in March & our April Meeting is on Monday, April 14th (Ruth McDowell is speaking). If you guys want to bring it over, let me know when & I'll check to see if we can fit you in.

"Paul>> Hi Marcella,

I had trouble with that tiny picture too. Then I remembered Internet Explorer's zoom feature located way down in the right hand corner. I zoomed the view up that window up to 400% and got a delightful look at the houses. Intriguing!! The houses are so cute!

Outed on the internet :-)

I take that off ramp frequently and I smile every time. I can't help but think of you standing outside the garage in your print blouse waiting. A very fun adventure.
