We're still waiting. And waiting. The owner says he's in no hurry to make this decision. Could be another few weeks while he ponders the mysteries of the universe. We had a wonderful, relaxing time away. But now we're back. Stomachs are churning and brains are aching with stress. No help for it. Just wait.

I know this is a less than stellar comment - but the world changes so rapidly that I am mostly dazzled and dithered and struggle to keep up. It seems to me that the newspaper as we know it is one that is being hit very hard by change. So many folks I know no longer take a daily paper or have a home phone. Such is life. So. How to survive being in the newspaper business? I don't have a solution . . . but for sure, your sweetheart needs to be considering now or in the near future another path with the net or tv news/advertising. I think of you folks that are 50 something as experienced and flexible enough to move forward and overcome. There's a lot to be said about age and stealth. =) Polly

Still keeping you and your DH in my thoughts.

None of my business, but I can't fathom how your DH's boss is so clueless as to how this is eating away at you (and the other applicants and their families). He needs to pull his head out.
