Plan for the baby quilt

I have searched through my fabric and found some nice bright kid prints, but the prints are too big for nice applique. I looked through a block book and found a simple pieced one called Fun Patch that will work out nicely. I am making one giant block so the pieces will be big enough to show off the prints. I've already done the math for it and made a template. I'm pre-washing the fabric and will starch it tomorrow before cutting.

I went to Quilter's Cache and found the block:

Ami Simms has a great book for kiddies quilts that allows for using novelty prints to their best advantage. Its called Picture Play Quilts! I do like the one you showed us though! Good luck with it!

I love that scrap patch block. I wish I had the time and energy to make all these quilts!

Oh, that looks like fun!! I have to eventually make a quilt from a whole bunch of butterfly fabrics for the DGD who's expecting. This would be perfect!! thanks for sharing that with us.
