I finally wore out the walking foot that Valerie so kindly sent me a couple of years ago. The walking part of the foot disintegrated while I was attaching the binding on a quilt last weekend. Since I have a couple of quilts to finish before Christmas, I was in a bit of a panic.
The Singer site directed me to identify my machine (a 301), took me to the parts list, let me order exactly what I wanted at a reasonable price. That was on Sunday. On Tuesday I had the new foot already! And shipping/postage was free!
Amazon, eat your heart out. The Singer depot in Phoenix (actually, Mesa) makes Amazon look like clumsy amateurs.
