prayers and good thoughts obviously working

....but don't stop! Talked with SIL earlier tonight and she said to plan on Chasity being with us for the summer! Yay! I'm happy and now the fun part of planning everything gets to start happening!! I've already binned my quilting fabrics so that she can actually use a closet instead of living out of her suitcase....don't worry, I can still get to it if I decide I need ot be quilting.

Clothing fabric and patterns are still in the room as are the sewing and cutting tables. As Ken said, she won't be here until June, so there is no reason to completely clean out the room right now. I think I might actually leave the tables (at least one of them), but all cutting implelments will be put away for safety's sake.

I will be teaching her how to sew and she and DS will be working with me to plan dinner menus and helping with the actual cooking.

We are planning trips to the SMithsonian and MOnticello as well as a camping trip to West VA...woohooo!!!

Larisa, jazzed about this (in case you couldn't tell)

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, Larisa.

Looks like everything is a go ahead like we talked last night. I think this is gonna be a great thing for her.

If you need a place to store your fabric and goodies, I'm in all of the directories..........

Hahhahhahha...quiltilng fabrics have alreayd been binned and are stored in our bedroom in one of the built in cubby thingies. NOt sure if I'm going to take everything out of here as I really want to teach her how to sew....it will be 1-on-1 time that i don't think she has EVER received, and it has always been a sanity saver for me..we'll see if she likes it. I think I'm going to test her interest by offering ot teach her how to make a basic quilt - one that is all her very own that she will do most of the work on...then we can move on to clothing is she is interested in that.

SO jazzed

Oh, Larisa, this is going to be fun and I know she is going to respond well to you.

Just keep one thing in mind.

She's 13.

I read somewhere that the two hardest years of a woman's life is when SHE is

13 and her DAUGHTER is 13.

I had doubts that either my daughter or I would make it till she turned 14. DH was ready to ship both of us out on the nearest ice flow.

But I don't think my daughter was as awful with anyone else. Her teachers never seemed to notice. She still got along smoothly with her dad and grandmas. She was just determined to establish her independence from me, not anyone else.

If I have any words of wisdom, I guess it would be to ask yourself at every argument, "is this the hill you want to die on?"

Luckily, we came out the other side. And while we still argued (we still do and she's 24!), we respected each other and can really enjoy each others company.

Most of us live through it. And can maybe answer any questions you might have later on.
