I have to pass this story I read along to you all. It is from a Dear Jane group I belong to. It sounds like a great way to deal with some of those self appointed quilt police (weather they were planned or unplanned 'mistakes'). Hope you enjoy.

And don't forget the story of Arachne from Greek mythology. The short version is that Arachne was a mortal woman who did such wonderful needlework that the gods were jealous, and one of them -- I forget which -- was furious since no mortal was allowed perfection. Perfection was reserved for the gods. So this goddess decided to kill Arachne as punishment. However, Zeus took pity on Arachne. He couldn't bring her back to life as a mortal woman, but brought her back as a spider so she could forever spin perfect webs. That is the source of the word "arachnid", for spiders, and the reason no one should ever make anything absolutely perfect -- who wants to risk ticking off a god and winding up as a spider?
Charlotte, that's a *wonderful* story! What a perfect reply! :D
